Severe meteorological conditions are prompting emergency protocols across the Lower Mainland as heavy winds and intense rainfall sweep through the region. In response to these hazardous elements, local authorities have activated critical safe havens to protect vulnerable community members from the elements.

The Homelessness Services Association of BC officially extended its active alert status, triggering the immediate opening of municipal refuge spaces. These locations ensure that adults facing housing instability have a secure place to weather the ongoing environmental severity.
